Obituary for Ann Cassidy Griffin
Ann Cassidy Griffin of Westerville, OH, formerly of Duncansville, PA, passed away Thursday, October 27, at the age of 99. She was born in Altoona on December 13, 1922, and lived most of her life in Duncansville, before moving to her daughter’s home in Westerville in 2017. She was married for 54 years to the late Charles E. Griffin Jr., whom she married on July 25, 1945. They met during Captain Griffin’s war bond tour in April of 1945, and immediately knew they would spend the rest of their lives together. She was a 1940 graduate of Altoona High School and graduated from The Altoona School of Commerce in 1941. Ann was employed by The Butterick Co. for more than 23 years and was a lifetime member of the Broad Ave./Providence Presbyterian Church in Altoona.
She was an only child and was preceded in death by her father, C. Ralph Cassidy and her mother, Louise Sisley Cassidy of Duncansville. Her husband, Charles (Spider) Griffin passed away in 2000. She is survived by her children, Charles III, wife Brenda, of Dallastown, PA; Diane Gennari, husband, John, of Westerville, OH; and Susan Boswell, fiancé, David Schnell of Gilbert, SC; as well as 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.

The family plans a private memorial service to be held at the Good Funeral Home, Friday, November 18, at 10 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at the Alto-Reste Park, where Ann will be laid to rest beside her husband in The Garden of Honor.
