Benjamin S. Forshey Sr., 86, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning at UPMC Altoona following an extended illness. He was born on January 6, 1932 in Altoona son of the late Harry S. and Anna (Wood) Forshey. Benjamin married Delores A. Sinisi on November 3, 1954 in Altoona and she preceded him in death on March 24, 2001. Surviving are 1 daughter- Deborah Woomer (Leon) of Altoona, 2 sons- Benjamin S. Jr (Lori) of Altoona, and Glenn Forshey (Becky) of Hollidaysburg; a grandson- Benjamin W. Forshey and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters- Janey and Dolly, and 2 brothers- Harry and Arthur. Benjamin was preceded in death by - 3 sisters- Shirley, Mary, and Margaret, and by a brother- Paul.
Benjamin was employed as a machinist at Boyer Candies for 32 years, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1951 until 1954, and enjoyed watching Professional wrestling, doing woodworking projects, and he loved animals. Friends will be received from 11a.m. until the 1p.m. funeral service Thursday December 6, 2018 at The Good Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor John Collins officiant. Military honors will be rendered by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will take place in Alto Reste Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society or to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue
