Obituary for Beth Ann Fahr

Beth Ann Fahr, 75, of Hollidaysburg, went home Sunday to be with her Lord. She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Richard and Peggy (Lockard) Rouzer.

She married Thomas A. Fahr, who preceded her in death in October 2021.

Beth owned and operated Chris’ Hallmark Shop, Altoona since 1986. She enjoyed traveling to gift shows and choosing beautiful merchandise for the shop. She also worked as an elementary school guidance counselor at Juniata Valley Elementary School where she helped countless children and made lifelong friends.

Beth graduated from Altoona High School in 1965. She went on to continue her education at The Pennsylvania State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Individual and Family Studies as well as a masters degree in counselor education.

Beth was a kind, compassionate and loving woman. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with her beloved daughter. She also loved her dog, Ziggy.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Fahr of Hollidaysburg; brother-in-law, Robert Fahr (Kathy) of Hagerstown, Md.; and sister-in-law, Susan Vannoy (John) of Port Matilda; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Marty Jo Irvin Stellabotte officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.

The family requests those wishing to attend please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
