Obituary for Betty Jo Swartz

Betty Jo Swartz, 69, of Altoona, passed away peacefully Thursday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Robert I. and Geraldine M. (Endress) Klopp.
Betty worked as an associate at Wal-Mart for several years. She was a kind hearted person who truly loved helping people, which made her great at her job.
She grew up in Altoona, and graduated from Altoona Area High School.
Betty loved her “children” and always had a soft spot in her heart for all animals, especially her Misty Ann, Zoey Lynn and Edie Marie. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of them and making so many wonderful memories together. She will be cherished and missed by them.
Surviving are her loving husband, George; and siblings: Evelyn Gority and Terry W. Klopp of Altoona. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Judith A. Terry, Jean L. Musser, Helen M. Keller, Nancy Benjamin; and her brother, Robert I. Klopp Jr.
Family will receive friends from 3 until the 5 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona. Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
