July 28, 1933 - February 19, 2019

Carl G. “Whitey” Wyant, 85, Duncansville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday.

Born in Newry, PA, Carl was the son of the late Gerald and Ella Marie (Steiner) Wyant. On June, 16, 1956 Carl married Shirley Long, who preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2012, after 56 years of marriage.

Surviving are his 2 daughters, Karen Ickes (Luke) and Donna Yon (Jon); 4 sons, Carl J. (Linda), Mark (Steph), Bruce (Jen) and Brian Wyant; sister Mary Catherine Teeter; 13 grandchildren, Matthew, Lindsay, Matt, Shawn, Amber, Haley, Justin, Sara, Emily, Mandi, Mike, Levi and Jeanell; as well as many great-grandchildren.

Along with Carl’s wife he was preceded in death by his son David on May 3, 2006.

Whitey was the owner and operator of Wyant Service Station in Duncansville. After he retired he enjoyed farming, hunting, trapping and beekeeping. In his free time he liked to play poker with friends and search for arrowheads. He was an expert tv remote operator. But most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at The Good Funeral Home Inc from 5-8pm on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019 and again from 10-11am on Monday, Feb. 25, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted following the visitation on Monday at 11am. Military honors by the Blair County Honor Guard will be held to honor Carl’s service in the Army during the Korean War. Burial will take place at Alto Reste Park.

Bryan and family, I know you will miss your father, but it is a blessing he passed peacefully. I'm sure his family brought him much joy over the years and it looks like he had a rich and full life. Prayers to you and your family.
