Carol M. Lockard

Oct. 1, 1933 – April 18, 2020

Carol M. Lockard, 86, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Clair E. and Mary (Muscatelli) Lockard.

Surviving are her two sisters: Marlene (John) Kirsch of Altoona and Hilda Norton of Hagerstown, Md.; a brother Stephen (Sally) Lockard of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Judy Lockard of Altoona; a cousin, William Culp of State College; and 18 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Clair J. “Sonny” Lockard; brother-in-law, Rex Norton; and her beloved friend, Benjamin Forshey.

Carol was a graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1951. She attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduating in 1954, as an registered nurse, she began a much loved nursing career with over 40 years of service in pediatrics, medical surgery and private duty nursing.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Carol enjoyed gardening, crocheting, crafting and watching the 700 Club.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private burial will take place with a private service at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
