Obituary for Cora J. Lanzendorfer

Cora J. Lanzendorfer, peacefully passed away on early Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at The Presbyterian Home in Hollidaysburg, PA. Born on December 1, 1931, in Altoona, PA, Cora was the daughter of the late Bartly and Elva (Gesser) Lindemer. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Floyd Lanzendorfer, who preceded her in death on December 12, 2003. Cora's memory will forever be cherished by her children: Deborah Toth (married to Steve), Daryl Lanzendorfer, Dawna Padula (and significant other Steve Georgianna), Daniel Lanzendorfer (married to Sandra), and Timothy Lanzendorfer (married to Lori). Each of her children held a special place in her heart, and she loved them unconditionally. In addition to her children, Cora is survived by her siblings: Janet Baker, Doris Lindemer, Walter Lindemer, Bill Lindemer, and Beverly Seese. Cora shared a deep bond with her siblings, and their lifelong connection brought joy and support to her journey. Cora was preceded in death by her siblings Vara Boyles, Barbara Mayernick, and Bonnie Lindemer. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them. Cora dedicated many years of her life to serving as a mail courier for the Altoona Hospital, where she retired after a fulfilling career. Her commitment and hard work were evident in everything she did, and she took pride in her contributions to the hospital and the community. Cora was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newry. She found solace and strength in her faith and actively participated in various church events. Cora's presence and willingness to lend a helping hand made a difference in the lives of many within her church community. Outside of her work and religious involvement, Cora found joy in her personal pursuits. She delighted in baking delicious treats for her family, filling their homes with the sweet aroma of love and care. Gardening was another passion that brought her great satisfaction, as she nurtured and cultivated beautiful plants and flowers. And in quieter moments, Cora would lose herself in the challenge and beauty of putting together jigsaw puzzles, relishing the satisfaction of completing each intricate piece. Cora J. Lanzendorfer's legacy extends beyond her career and hobbies. She leaves behind a loving family, including fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
