Many condolences on the death of your dear loved one. During these times of distress, we can call on our heavenly Father, whose personal name is Jehovah, to give us comfort and strength. We know that he sees our sufferings from the many scriptures like the one found at Psalms 34:6; "This lowly one called, and Jehovah heard. He saved him from all his distresses." There is another that lets us know that he is the God of all comfort found at 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. May these and other scriptures you find offer you peace and comfort.
