Obituary for Dan C. Riley

Nov. 15, 1951 – Jan. 9, 2019

Dan C. Riley, 67, Hollidaysburg, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, while vacationing in Port Richey, Fla.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late LeRoy and Patricia (Hurm) Riley. On March 29, 1972, he married Pamela L. Weaver at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Duncansville.

Surviving are his wife, Pamela; two daughters: Heather (Jeff) Desch and Hope (Joel) Stewart; three grandchildren: Nick Desch, Mason Smith and Rachel Smith; five sisters: Kay (Dan) Laratonda, Janine (Chris) Johnson, Christine Riley, Joy (Mick) DeStefano and Michele Claycomb; a brother, Paul Riley; his father-in-law, Robert Weaver; two sisters-in-law: Holly (Mike) Weitzel and Christy Weaver Smith (Steve); two brothers-in-law: Randy Joyner and Chuck Kim; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Megan and Cameron Smith; a brother, Timothy; a sister, Judy Kim; his mother-in-law, Vecelia Weaver; a sister-in-law, Kim Weaver Joyner; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Claycomb.

Dan graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1969. He was a retired member of Local Union 354 Plumbers and Pipefitters. He was also a member of Iron Masters Country Club.

He enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, deer hunting and he was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Friends will be received from 2 until the 5 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, Pastor John Collins officiating.
