Obituary for Daniel E. "Danny" Prough

Daniel “Danny” Prough, 59, of Altoona passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at UPMC Altoona.

He was born on May 25, 1962, in Altoona, PA; a son of the late Logan and Theda (Delozier) Prough.

Daniel proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corps from 1981-1986, where he earned a Rifle Marksmanship Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and SEA Service Deployment Ribbon. After serving in the Marine Corps, he became a Truck Driver driving for over 20 years, most currently as a driver with New Penn.

Throughout the years he enjoyed playing softball and going bowling. He always had fun talking smack on Facebook especially with his family and friends -- his way of keeping in touch with them. He had an outgoing personality and always found a way to make people laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teresa (Horton) Prough. They have a daughter together, Danielle Jo Prough who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sisters, Michelle Furio (Rob) and Sharon Prough, and sister in law Kim (Rusty). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and daughter, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jack Horton, his sisters in law Vicky and Janet, brothers in law Jackie and Rick, and his niece Jennifer Prough.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
