David P. "The Living Legend" Crownover, 81, Duncansville, passed away Tuesday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Paul and Marjorie (Woomer) Crownover. On March 31, 1962, he married Betsy Hamman.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Kelly L. Crownover of Altoona; a son, Michael D. Crownover (Jessica) of Altoona; five grandchildren: Trevor and Turner Bush, and Max, Mya and Mason Crownover, all of Altoona; a sister, Karen; a brother, Jeff (Judy); an aunt, Sondra J. Hamman; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Ted Hatch.
David was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School and served in the U.S Army Reserves. He worked at J.G. Packing Co. as a salesman. He was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing and the Denver Broncos.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Alto-Reste Park. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Greenwood United Methodist Church, 1505 E. Walton Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
