Obituary for David F. Goodman
David F. Goodman, 75, of Altoona passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. He was born on December 7, 1947, a son of the late Homer and Margaret Baker and his adopted parents, Charles and Luella Goodman.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharon (Mowery) Goodman of Altoona; son, David Goodman (Stephanie) of Altoona, step-son, Ronnie Stahl of Altoona; three sisters, JoAnne Liggett of FL, Jeannie Ryan of Altoona and Donna Kay (Don) of Belleville; brother-in-law, John Mowery (Dara) of Everett; several nieces and nephews and three very special friends, Dan, Lisa and Sis Berry.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1967-73. Once discharged from the Army, he began working at Norfolk Southern Railroad where he worked as a machinist from 1973-92. David was an avid fisherman who loved camping by the river. He enjoyed watching trains whenever he could and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents and his adopted parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryant Stahl and several brothers and a sister.
Family will receive friends from 11am-1pm on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona. Military services will begin at 1pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Good Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.
