David Earl Trexler, 94, Duncansville, passed away on Monday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Clement Peter Trexler and Emma Eveanna Carland. On Oct. 25, 1948, he married Violet Rebecca Wicker, who preceded him in death in June 2010.
Surviving are his loving children: Bret Trexler (Judy), Christine Miller (Jon), Carlyn Daugherty, Emily Lattuca, Shelly Harding (Dave), Kathleen Tresise (Bill), Brian Trexler (Cecelia) and Jason Trexler (Ann); as well as 21 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife, David was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
David proudly served his country as a sniper of the 271st Regiment, 69th Infantry Division, Company I, during WWII.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, with full military honors by the Blair County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in David’s name may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
