Obituary for Delores Lou (Singer) Burley

Delores Lou (Singer) Burley, 91, of Altoona, PA; passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at home. She was born on February 15, 1929 in Altoona, PA; a daughter of the late Clarence Singer and Daisy (Pullen) Singer. On May 22, 1947 in the Grace United Methodist Church she was united in marriage to the late Charles Clayton Burley Jr. She is survived by six children Charles “Pudge” Burley III married to Janet; Claudia Woleslagle married to Calvin; Jordie Burley; Gregory Burley married to Amy; Melissa Hill married to Ed and Jason Burley married to Maria; nine grandchildren Brian, Jarret, Kimberly, Jocelyn, Lance, Jessica, Ryan, Crystal and Dustin; seventeen great-grandchildren. She was the last of eight children who are all deceased; brothers Alan, Joseph, Donald, Pete, twin brothers Bill and Bob and a sister Edna (Singer) Watson.


She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church until it’s closing and then became a member of Whenwood United Methodist Church. Delores and her daughter sang together many years in the choir at the Grace Methodist Church. She won her first talent singing contest at the age of 15. She took first place singing “If You Were The Only Boy In The World” She was blessed with a beautiful voice. She was a very loving unselfish mother always putting her children first. That carried over into her role as grandma and great-grandmother. She was loved and will be missed by all.
