Obituary for Denise L. Warner (Eckert)

Denise (Eckert) Warner was born on January 24, 1973 the daughter of Rita (Ehrensberger) and Alphonse Eckert.

She was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School.

She married Fred Warner at Decker's Chapel on February 25, 2012.

Denise is survived by her step-son, whom she loved as her own, Michael Warner; brothers, Daniel Eckert, David Eckert, Dennis "Frank" Eckert, Donald (Donna) Eckert, all of St. Marys, and Douglas (Atsuko) Eckert of Ohio; sisters, Dora (LeRoy) Yanak, Kay (Steve) Vollmer, Darla Eckert, and Danita Moate, all of St. Marys. "Aunt Nise" or "Aunt Nisa" was very proud of her 15 nieces and nephews and often referred to her numerous great-nieces and nephews as the "Great Ones."

Denise was preceded in death by her husband Fred Warner on January 21st, 2024; her beloved parents who she assisted in caring for, Alphonse and Rita Eckert; sisters, Diane Kane and Donna "Weezie" Eckert; brother-in-law, Albert Kane; and nephews, Allen Kane and James Eckert.

Denise was best known for her unique ability to remember special dates. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, oftentimes sending a card, message, or a quick phone call. In her younger years, she spent countless hours with her father. She helped play the role of the Holly Jolly Elf while Alphonse visited local children playing Santa. Denise found enjoyment playing Bingo and card games, attending raffles and benefits. Denise always found time to visit family and friends near and far. She loved and cherished the special bond between her and her step-son, Michael.

Denise will be missed by many, especially for her laugh and for those fortunate enough to have received a greeting card on those "special" days.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 2, 2024 at The Good Funeral Home, Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA 16601 from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

A celebration of Denise's life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.

Burial will be held privately at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
