Obituary for Donald W. Charlesworth

Donald W Charlesworth, 89, of Duncansville, died at Presbyterian Village, Hollidaysburg on August 31,2022 due to complications from COVID. He was born in Lakemont Terrace, Altoona, PA, son of the late Albert and Nettie G. (Moore) Charlesworth. He married D. Elise Wilt, April 20th, 1956 at Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, five sons, Gregory (Beverly) of Roaring Spring, Kenneth of High Springs, FL, Donald (Ken) of King of Prussia, PA, Scott (Ann) of Rock Hill, SC, and Andrew (Christina) of Altoona, one daughter, Elise of Philadelphia, three granddaughters, one grandson, and 2 great grandchildren.

He retired as Senior Accountant at Fry Metals, a Cookson Company, after a period of 19 years. He was formerly employed at Crane Co., Duncansville for a period of 20 years and was controller until the plant closed.

He was a 1950 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and a 1952 graduate of the Altoona School of Commerce. He was a sergeant in the US Army, B Battery 11th AAA, Army of Occupation in Austria during the Korean War. He was a member of the Blair County Genealogical Society having served on the board as Treasurer. He served as vice president of the Duncansville Historical Society. He was also a past member of the Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church having served on council as treasurer.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing.

Interment was in Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
