Obituary for Donald W. Steele
Donald W. Steele, 63, of Duncansville, PA; passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on September 25, 1959 in Altoona, PA; a son of the late Donald Clark Steele and Bertha Reigh (Figart) Steele. He was united in marriage to Maryanne Steele; she preceded him in death on June 5, 2019.
He is survived by daughters Amy Crookshank, Petersburg, PA and Shannon Bertram, Roaring Spring, PA; grandchildren Dustin Mathew Steele, Jamie Marie Bertram and James Anthony Bertram, III; siblings Dennis Clark Steele, Robert Eugene Steele and Leeann Steele Hobble and his special dog “Zeppy”.
Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by son Mathew William Steele and sister Donna Jeane Steele-Zimmerman.
Donald worked as a supervisor for Lumax Lighting. When he wasn’t at work he enjoyed golfing, playing chess, painting, playing his guitar and sitting out by the campfire.
A service celebrating Donald’s life will be held at a later date.
