Donovan “Malakhi” Yanchik, 40, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019.
Born in Oregon, Donovan was the son of Lee and Lucy Yanchick.
He is survived by his loving partner of many years Gregory Ramsey; Mother Lucy Yanchik; sister Patricia Yanchik- Bryant; brother Joshua Yanchik; Aunts and Uncles, Albert & Grace Warren, Robert & Flora Matthiesen, Mary Manard, Al & Pat Iannucci Gene & Faye McClarey, Marlen Daeseleer, John & Anna Yanchik; Nieces Leah Yanchik-Williams, Ky Tara Yanchik, Sherisse Scott, Jasmine Scott, JaLeesa Scott, Jayla Yanchik and Raven Yanchik; grandnephews Ty Williams, Torrian Clemmens, Terrell, Michael, Jeremiah and Isiah Scott; grandnieces, LeRoni and Kimberlee Williams, Myracle Yanchik- Simiya, Rhiana and Monnae Scott; as well as numerous other family and friends.
Donovan was preceded in death by his father Lee R. Yanchik; grandparents Lorene Warren,
John and Irene Yanchik; uncles Paul Warren, Donald Manard and Jeff Daeseleer.
Donovan will be missed by many because of the way he made people laugh. He had a way of cheering people up with some of the funniest, most ridiculous things he said. His career was in the restaurant business loving what he did. He worked in a few of the local places putting his impeccable service skills to good use when he waited tables. His ultimate goal in the last place of employment was to focus on a management career. Him and his partner discussed a nice vacation this summer to Universal Studios because it’s something Donovan wanted to do. Donovan had a beautiful singing voice and was involved in different choirs throughout his life. He listened and loved every genre of music and appreciated it. His favorite things to watch were the Madea plays. His favorite artist were Rihanna & Beyonce. He enjoyed a simple life at home with his partner greg and loved the spurs. He also vowed one day soon to finally own a Ford Mustang. Donovan was an avid gamer. When he had free time, you could bet it was in from of his PS4. Donovan met the love of his life back in June of 2011 where they have lived together the past 7 ½ years. It’s truly a sad day but heaven gained another beautiful angel. We will love and miss you Donovan.
Family and friends will be received for a time of visitation at The Good Funeral Home from 2-4pm on Saturday March 2, 2019.
