Obituary for Dorothy McMasters
Dorothy B. McMasters, 89, of Altoona, passed away Sunday at Altoona Center for Nursing Care, Altoona. She was born on Nov. 07, 1933, in Hollidaysburg, PA; a daughter of the late George and Rachael (Haffley) Baker.
On August 21, 1953, she married Donald E. McMasters who preceded her in death in 1995.
Dorothy enjoyed baking, gardening, reading her bible and spending time with her family, especially all the grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of family. She was a devoted mother and a very proud grandmother.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathie Bomeisl (John) of Tipton, Sandie Stotler (Tom) of Altoona, and Donna Rhodes (Buck) of Fredonia; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, and a sister Betty Ulery of Hollidaysburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings.
There will be a public visitation from 11am until the funeral service at noon, on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona. Interment will be private at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the James E. Van Zandt Veterans Nursing Home, 500 Municipal Dr., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
