Dr. James R. West, 56, of New Enterprise, went home to be with his Lord on November 19, 2021, at UPMC Altoona.


He was born on June 9, 1965, in Morganfield, KY; a son of Sharon Kay (Courtney) West and the late Harold Douglas West. On April 29, 1993, he married Nancy (McCollam) West who survives in New Enterprise.


James was a Pastor at the Faith Baptist Church, in Osterburg, for almost 25 years. Pastor James loved his Lord and served him faithfully. He was a devoted husband and father, a loyal friend and a compassionate Pastor.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Jeanie Kay Ferreira (Sven) of New Enterprise, James Douglas West of Huston, TX, and Ethan James West of New Enterprise; one sister, Tonya Kay White (Chuck) of Hatfield, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great niece and nephews.


Friends will be received from 10 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Faith Baptist Church, 9681 William Penn Rd, Osterburg, PA. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
