Obituary for Elizabeth S. Hare
Elizabeth S. Hare, 91, Altoona, passed away on Friday at the Presbyterian Village in Hollidaysburg.
Born in Hollidaysburg, she was the daughter of the late D. Edgar and Mable Mae (Ritz) Sellers.
Along with her parents Elizabeth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Robert F. Hare Jr.; three brothers, Wally, Rich and Edgar Sellers and a son in law E. Kenneth Achuff III.
Surviving Elizabeth are her four wonderful children that were the light of her life: one son Robert F. Hare III (Phyllis) and three daughters, Elizabeth H. Achuff, Nancy H. Baker and Barbara H. Lichtenstein (Mark). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Molly and Matthew Lichtenstein, Caitlin Baker, Christian Achuff and Gretchen Watts; and three great grandchildren, Julia, Carter and Tyler Achuff.
Elizabeth’s greatest joy in life was her family, including her beloved furry K-9 companion Molly. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time at her favorite place, Long Beach Island, NJ. Elizabeth was also a member of the Providence Presbyterian Church in Altoona.
Friends and family will be received from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at The Good Funeral Home Inc.at Alto Reste Park. A memorial service will follow with Pastor David Hersh Officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions in Elizabeth’s name be made to the ASPCA, https://www.aspca.org/
