Obituary for Evelyn Johnson (Rickabaugh)
Evelyn M. (Rickabaugh) Johnson 65 of Altoona, PA. passed away on January 4, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio at the home of her sister after an extended illness.
Born in Altoona on August 10, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Marvin L. Sr. and Betty C. (Yoder) Rickabaugh.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin L. Rickabaugh Jr. She is survived by a daughter Melissa A. (Sanders) Cox of Altoona; a son Justin M. Sanders of Altoona; a granddaughter/grandson Nevaeh/Kitt Cox (he/him) of Altoona; a sister Betty C. Rickabaugh of Columbus, OH. and a nephew Dakota C. Rickabaugh of Columbus, Ohio.
Evelyn graduated from Altoona Area High School class of 1975. She attended Penn State Altoona Campus 1985-1987 where she majored in business administration.
She was a bartender by trade and worked at many establishments throughout Altoona over the years. For the last 10 years she was a direct care aide for Community Resources for Independence. She enjoyed interior design and event planning, as well as gardening, and live stage performances whether it be music or theater.
Family will receive friends from 2-4p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Good Funeral Home Inc. 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA. The memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Stewart McClelland officiating.
