Obituary for Faun Marie Bryar
Faun Marie Bryar, 83, of Altoona, passed away Monday, September 21, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 27, 1938, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Matha B. (Cooper) Cox.
Some of her hobbies included Sewing, knitting, putting puzzles together, working on crosswords and playing a good game of scrabble. She adored animals, especially the dogs she had throughout the years. Most importantly, she cherished time with her family. She especially looked forward to each grandchild's vacation at Gaumie’s every summer. She always looked forward to family beach trips to Brigantine, NJ. Faun was a kind, caring, loving person who was always there when you needed her. She was a dedicated mother, proud grandmother, and a loyal friend who will be missed by all. Faun graduated from the Altoona School of Nursing. She worked at the Altoona hospital for over 30 years , retiring as Palliative Care Registered Nurse.
She is survived by her children, J. Scott Bryar of Altoona and Susan Schilling (Thomas) of Altoona; four siblings, Donna Focht, Patricia Bay, Joseph Cox II, and Jeffrey Cox; eight grandchildren, Tabor Schilling, Tierney Schilling-Bayles (Greg), Tobiah Schilling, Tylo Schilling, Tovin Schilling, Tracer Schilling, Tage Schilling, and Tolson Schilling. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Xander Schilling and Brailyn Bayles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, LeeAnn Bryar and a brother, Frederick Cox.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, and from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA. The funeral service will follow at 12PM on Saturday.
