Frances M. ‘Diamond lil’ Woomer

Frances M. “Diamond lil” Woomer, 96, of Duncansville, passed away peacefully Sunday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Albert and Emily (Osterman) Snavely.
Frances married Charles W. Woomer Jr. on October 10, 1943, in Altoona and he preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1997.
Surviving is her son, Charles W. Woomer III; two grandchildren, Elisabeth and Benjamin (Molly) Woomer; two great-grandchildren, Atle and Julia Pepper; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, George W. Snavely; and nine sisters: Alberta Wambaugh, Violet Demarce, Edith Thomas, Emily Lytle, Eleanore Smith, Helen Boore, Isabelle Stiffler, Ada Munchak and Florence Stacey.
Frances enjoyed puzzles, traveling, gardening and watching soap operas. In her later years, she was again devoted to taking care of her son.
She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the Eastern Star and was a 1942 graduate of Altoona High School.
Frances contributed to the war effort during WWII by being employed at a local manufacturing facility in Blair County. She also worked at A&P supermarket in Altoona, and proudly worked for Boyer Candy Company.
Due to COVID-19, all services will be privately held at the convenience of her family. Internment will take place in Alto-Reste Park. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
