Francis P. 'Frank' Solomon Jr.

Francis P. "Frank" Solomon Jr., 72, Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday.
He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Francis P. Sr. and Frances E. Prostredny. On Aug. 28, 1971, he married Judith A. Orris.
Surviving are his wife, Judith; a daughter, Dawn A. Rager (Charles) of York; two sons: Brian P. (Jill) of New Franklin, Ohio., and Craig P. Solomon (Jill) of Erie; four grandchildren: Kayla A. and Kimberly A. Rager and Leah C. and Cassidy G. Solomon; two sisters: Barbara A. Hesse (Charles) of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Maureen A. Sullivan of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Stephen P. Solomon (Nancy) of Quarryville; a stepsister, Mary Geckle of Cincinnati, Ohio; two stepbrothers: Thomas Martin (Veronica) of Chalfont, and Terrence Martin (Caroline) of Springfield, Va.; a sister-in-law, Christine Martin of San Diego, Calif.; and 21 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Marian (Martin) Solomon; a stepsister, Patricia Martin; a stepbrother, Jerome Martin; and a stepbrother-in-law, Ed Geckle.
Frank was a graduate of Warren High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, and also attended courses at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and Penn State Altoona. He retired in 2009 from Penelec/ First Energy after 39 years of service where he started as a janitor and worked his way up to facility manager.
He was a member of Hollidaysburg senior bowling league, Hollidaysburg Sportsman Association and the Blair County Genealogical Society.
Frank enjoyed fishing, spending evenings with his wife at Canoe Creek lake, camping with family, family gatherings, bowling, target shooting, and he was a history buff. He will be remembered for his vivacious spirit and laughter.
There will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place in Alto-Reste Park. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
