Hazel Belle (Dibert) French

Hazel Belle (Dibert) French died on Sunday. She was born in Claysburg, an only daughter of the late Lucy and William Dibert. She married Roy A. French on Oct. 11, 1941 in Buffalo, N.Y.

Hazel was a loving wife and mother of three children: a daughter, Linda Trostle and husband, George “Skip,” of Hollidaysburg, son, Larry and wife, Cheryl, of Fayetteville, Tenn. and son Jay and wife, Georgann, of New Cumberland; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, of 49 years on May 12, 1991 and by six of her seven brothers.

Mrs. French was a 1937 graduate of Claysburg High School. She was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church in Hollidaysburg. Hazel studied oil painting from three different people and won many blue ribbons in local contests for her artwork. Later, she had painting classes in her home for many people. She also enjoyed sewing for individuals. She was a dedicated mother, caregiver and friend of many.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held privately for the family on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park thegoodfuneralhomeinc.com
