Obituary for James Martin "Jim" Waters Jr.

James ‘Jim’ M. Waters, Jr., 57, of Hollidaysburg passed away on Friday, March 11.

He was born in Bradford, PA, the son of James M., Sr. and Barbara (Hancharik) Waters. On October 21, 1995, he married Deborah A. Reece.

Jim is survived by his wife; mother; mother-in-law, Rose Reece; sons, Michael Krabbe (Kansas) and Garrett Reece; brother, Thomas Waters (Marcia); sister, Michele Rundell (John); grandchildren, Andrew Holzworth-Reece and Kennedy Krabbe; nieces, Ashley and Nicole; and nephews, Matthew, Shane and Sean.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Michael and Helen Hancharik; father-in-law, Carl B. Reece, Sr.; and very special niece, Stephanie Waters.

Jim graduated from Williamson High School in Tioga, PA. After high school, he served 9 years active duty in the United States Army as a nurse and X-Ray technician, and finished his military career in the Army Reserve/National Guard spending a year deployed in Kosovo.

He spent most of his career as an automotive technician with the VA Hospital in Altoona.

Jim was a past member of the VFW and American Legion.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his friends and family.

Jim was always generous with his time and will be sorely missed by all that loved him.

At Jim’s request, there will be no public services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be sent to Catholic Charities in support of Ukraine at 1300 12th Ave, Altoona, PA 16601.
