Obituary for Jane L. Baier

Nov. 22, 1935 – April 21, 2023

Jane L. Baier, 87, Altoona, passed away Friday at her residence.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Della (Reed) Coy. She married Gordon Baier who preceded her in death in 2012. They were married for 56 wonderful years.

Surviving are her two daughters, Dawn Baier and Cathy Rogers, both of Altoona; four grandchildren: Rachel Durning (Adrian), David Rogers, Phillip Rogers (Christa) and Laura Weimer (Matthew); 11 great-grandchildren who are all home schooled; and two siblings, Ruthie Burket and George Coy.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Rogers; and two siblings, Dolly Ickes and Gary Coy.

Jane was a very active member of Grace Alive Church in Altoona. She also participated frequently in activities with the Blair County Tea Party of Altoona, and the Blair County Women’s Republican meetings.

She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Jane stated several times she was not afraid to die. She said she would wait for the trumpet to sound, when she would be called back to life according to the Bible. Her trust was in Jesus the Messiah and the resurrection.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow with Pastor Tracy Plessinger officiating.
