Jerry Lee "Tom" Kenawell



Jan. 14, 1960 - Nov. 2, 2019


Jerry Lee "Tom" Kenawell, 59, of Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Saturday night at his home. He was born in Altoona, the son of Patty Meyers of Waynesboro, and was raised by Robert A. Hilton Jr. and Elizabeth A. Hilton.


Along with his mother, he is survived by: two stepdaughters, Rebecca Esworthy and Marci Pry; four sisters; one brother; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doreen Kenawell; his brother, David Kenawell; his sister, Vivian Brubaker; his grandson, Michael Kelly; Vivian Helsel; and Robert David Hilton.



Jerry graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1978. After graduation, he worked as a custodian for the Altoona Area School District where he retired.



He was a member of Wehnwood United Methodist Church.



Jerry loved collecting cars, going to flea markets and camping. He enjoyed doing yard work.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA 16601. Pastor John Collins will be officiating.
