Obituary – John (Jack) W. Tull


John (Jack) Wilson Tull, 99, of Naples, Fl., passed away suddenly on April 10, 2019. The son of George Tull and Florence Stubbs Tull, he was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on September 19, 1919. Jack lived on Park Boulevard in Juniata for over sixty years.


Jack is survived by 2 sons Daniel, spouse Fabiola Tull and William Tull; grandchildren Sean, Dena, David, Alec, William, Erin and Evan; great-grandchildren Nicholas, Ryann, Dylan, Madelyn, Samantha, and Benjamin; and his brother, Richard Tull.


Jack is preceded in death by his wife Shirley L. Tull; son John Tull; sister Jane Tull Erdwein; and 3 brothers Harry Tull, George Tull and Robert Tull;


Jack completed secondary schooling in Philadelphia, Pa. He served in the Army Air Patrol, the predecessor to the United States Air Force, from 1943 to 1947. He was trained to service electronic turrets and participated in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.


Jack was employed at a Gulf station while in the service. Shortly after leaving the service, Jack was employed by Western Electric/AT&T at the Altoona office. Jack retired in 1982 and enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his wife to Germany, Israel, the Caribbean, Alaska and spending winters in Florida. He also enjoyed fishing with his brothers and sons. Jack moved to Naples, Fl., in 2015.


Jack was a member of Jaggard First United Methodist Church in Altoona, Pa. and attended Capris Christian Church, Isle of Capris, Fl.


Friends and family will be received from 3-5 pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto Reste Park. A funeral service will take place Wednesday immediately following the visitation with pastor Beth Pyles officiating.
