Obituary for Judith E. "Judy Starr" Grace

Judith E. ‘Judy Starr’ Grace, 74, formerly of Altoona, passed away on Thursday after a 20 year battle with Huntington's Disease.

She was born in St. Augustine, PA on June 11, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Marion (Wyland) Longstreth. On Sept. 2, 1972, she married the late Larry R. Grace. They enjoyed almost 50 years together until his passing on Jan. 14, 2021.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Terry and Ken Longstreth; and her beloved dog, Murphy.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Judy enjoyed music of all types, golf, bingo and traveling.

She spent her career as a performer, singing throughout New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio with her mom, Marion, as her manager. Judy and Marion were inseperable, and the reunion of them in heaven was surely breathtaking.

Judy’s family is especially grateful for her caregivers over the years, and the wonderful staff at Garvey Manor. Thank you to all who helped Judy through this difficult battle.

There will be a public visitation for Judy at The Good Funeral Home, Alto-Reste Park on Sunday, February 19th from 2:00 PM until the 4:00 PM funeral mass. Father Allen Zeth will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. Monica’s Cemetery, Chest Springs, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Judy’s name to Garvey Manor Nursing Home, 1037 S Logan Blvd, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
