Obituary for Julie Pohar (Dopheide)
Julie Pohar, 48, of Duncansville, PA passed away on January 28, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones after an extended illness.
Born in Carroll, Iowa on October 4, 1974, she was the daughter of Gerald and Mary Pudenz Dopheide.
Julie was the epitome of grace reflected in her personality, style and beliefs. That grace and quiet strength guided her to live intentionally for her family and friends. Her husband, children and beloved puppy were her world. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected, and loved them immensely. Julie filled her home with warmth and kindness; hosting others with ease and making everyone feel welcome.
Julie had a knack for baking, creating delicious treats and decorating cookies for all occasions. Her interior decorating skills were effortlessly stunning and admired by many. She embraced traditions including the annual gingerbread house contest where friends and family near and far enjoyed the family competition. Julie adored traveling with her family, especially those to the beach.
She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
Surviving is her husband of 23 years, Darrin Pohar; two loving children, Maxwell and Sidney Pohar; her dog Finley; 3 sisters: Jill Dopheide, Jenna Kanne (Nick), and Jodi Rupiper (Matt); brother-in-law Drew Pohar (Stephanie); father and mother-in-law Chuck and Pam Pohar; as well as Carson, Gavin and Ross Kanne, Taylor and Riley Pohar, Brylee, Taelyn, Gage and Jonathon Rupiper.
Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents: Edwin and Leona Dopheide and Edwin and Leota Pudenz.
