Obituary for Kumbalatara A. Siripala
Dr. Kumbalatara A. Siripala, 79, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born on July 6, 1943, in Sri Lanka; a son of the late Jeetin Perera and M.D. Caroline Nona.
He married Ranjini Siripala who resides in Hollidaysburg. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this June.
He was a founding member and the President of the Pittsburgh Buddhist Center, Allison Park, PA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children; Anosha Siripala and Duminda Siripala. Also surviving are numerous family members in Sri Lanka.
Kumbalatara was a doctor, businessman and entrepreneur. He received his M.D. from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He then immigrated to the US and eventually started his own private practice in 1979.
He also founded and was Medical Director of the Bedford and Huntingdon Dialysis Units.
Family will receive friends from 2p.m.-5p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2022, at the Good Funeral Home Inc. 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
