Laurie G. Hecker, Hollidaysburg, PA; passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on April 30, 1960 in Altoona, PA; a daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Bernice (Meadows) Hecker. She is survived by sister Gina Montgomery; and nieces and nephews Steven, Samuel and Josiah Montgomery; Matthew and Douglas Frazier; Erin Anderson, Meredith Keith and Bob Hecker. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by siblings Thomas Robert Hecker and Patricia L. Frazier; and brothers-in-law Robert Montgomery and George Frazier. Laurie was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and Laurie was employed at Skills VTI for eighteen years. Laurie loved participating in the Special Olympics Bowling where she was a multi-medal winner. She was a member of the Hakuna Matata Square Dancing Group and enjoyed all the activities at the ARC of Blair County. She was a summer camper at the PA Lions Beacon Lodge Summer Camp in Mount Union, PA as well as attending Gaithers Brothers concerts, Beach Boys concerts and going to Altoona Curve games and seeing her friend Steamer. Laurie loved attending church and loved her church family at the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
