Lorraine D. (Shaheen) Frank, 93 of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 15, 2019 at The Presbyterian Village Hollidaysburg after a brief illness. She was born on July 14, 1925 in Passaic New Jersey, daughter of the late Elizabeth Shaheen and grandparents Charles and Mary Shaheen. On February 23, 1952 she married Melvin Frank at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lakemont. Lorraine was preceded in death by the recent loss of her husband and brother. Her beloved husband passed away November 13, 2018 at the age of 94. Her brother- Frank Shaheen passed away on October 17, 2018 at the age of 92. Surviving are two children- Barbara Frank of Altoona and Robert Frank of Denver,PA. And numerous nieces and nephews. Lorraine was a graduate of Altoona High School class of 1943 and the Altoona School of Commerce. She was employed by the PA Dept of Public Welfare, Dept of Agriculture, and the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1995.She loved animals, especially her adorable all white Kitty- Chrissy. Lorraine enjoyed playing Christian hymns on the piano, she was an avid sports enthusiast especially women's basketball, she also enjoyed couponing, ethnic cooking, and sharing ethnic foods with relatives and friends. She was always striving for perfection in her endeavors. She was extremely hard working, caring, and enjoyed helping others. Her many friendships were deep and forever lasting. Lorraine was deeply devoted to God, her religion, and her family. Her largest blessing was having the opportunity to share 66 years of life with a loving, caring, and devoted husband. At her request, there will not be a viewing. Family and friends will be received from 12p.m. until a 1p.m. funeral service on Thursday May 23, 2019 at The Good Funeral Home Inc. Interment will follow in Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
