Obituary for Lou Ann Clary

On March 4, 2023, Lou Ann (Campbell) Clary lost her battle with pancreatic cancer but won the war as she joins her fellow angels in Heaven.

Born March 1, 1947 in Dubois, PA to Walter Campbell and Dorothy (Griffith) Campbell, Lou Ann graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1965 and earned her B.A. from Westminster College.

She began her career as an elementary school teacher before devoting herself full-time to motherhood and homemaking. She was a Young Life Leader, an active volunteer with Zion Lutheran and First United Methodist Churches, Women’s Club, the Lutheran Home and the YMCA and retired from the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA in 2017. She made friends everywhere she went and was ever the nurturer, making sure everyone was warm and well-fed. She always made everyone feel special, putting lipstick on the ladies at the nursing home, bringing homemade soup to friends in need and, even in her last days, stopping the nurses to thank them. She was and still is an angel among us.

Lou Ann is survived by her loving husband David Scott Clary, their crazy pup Stormy, her brother William Campbell and wife Margie, nephew Bruce Campbell and family, and was preceded in death by her dear niece Wendy Campbell. She was the loving mother to Pam (Webber) Mitchell and husband Scott, Bradley Webber and wife Brandy, Alison (Webber) McLaughlin and husband Jeramie; proud Mimi to Jaden and Macey Mitchell, Sierra and Shaelyn Webber, Mavis McLaughlin.

The family will receive friends from 10AM-12PM and 5-8PM on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at The Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA 16601.
