Marie (Hoover) Taylor

Marie (Hoover) Taylor 88, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late F. Blair Hoover and Juliana (Edtmiller) Hoover. On March 7, 1953 she married Tom Taylor, whom she shared 66 years of marriage.
Surviving are her daughter, Gail Allen (Bob);Sister, Joyce Sykes (Russ); Brothers: Tom Hoover (Judy) and Wally Hoover; Brother-in Law, Jim Stumpf; Grandchildren: Lance Allen (Kristen), Stephanie Foster (Brian), Lindsay Allen (Eric) and Carrie Taylor, Great Grandchildren: Troy Allen, Sydney Allen, Avery Allen and Lyla Foster along with many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Taylor and a sister, Donna Mae Stumpf.
She was a 1949 graduate of Altoona Catholic High and then worked at Altoona Standard Supply as a secretary. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Altoona and was a member of the Golden Nuggets Dance Club and Mercy Hospital Socialites.
Marie enjoyed Polka dancing, baking apple pies and chocolate chip cookies, cooking, singing and spending time with family and friends. She has left this world a better place.
Family and Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the noon funeral service November 4, 2019 at Greenwood United Methodist Church. Pastor Duane Coy officiant. Entombment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: St Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona or Greenwood United Methodist Church.
