Obituary for Nancy Lee Vonada

Nancy Lee (Baker) Vonada

Nancy Lee (Baker) Vonada, Hollidaysburg, passed away at home Wednesday, July 24, 2019, after an extended illness.

She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of G. Edward Baker and Violet (Gardner) Baker. On June 19, 1954, she married Robert E. Vonada at Heinz Chapel at the University of Pittsburgh. He preceded Nancy in death on Aug, 19, 1994.

Surviving are a son, Robert E. Vonada II and daughter-in-law, Sonya M. Vonada; and four grandsons: Robert E. Vonada III, Donald P. Vonada, Andrew C. Vonada and Matthew R. Vonada, all of Hollidaysburg.

She graduated from Wilkinsburg High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. After their marriage, Bob entered into the U. S. Army, serving in the Army Dental Corps at Fort Belvoir in Virginia. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg. She was a lifetime member of Friends of the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library, Women's Auxiliary of the YMCA, and Historic Hollidaysburg Inc. as well as a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.

Nancy enjoyed reading, bridge, gardening and attending her grandsons' sporting events.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2019, at The Good Funeral Home Inc. Alto-Reste Park. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy's name may be made to the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library 1 Furnace Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
