Obituary for Nicholas D. "Nick" Hoenstine

Nicholas D. “Nick” Hoenstine, 23, Martinsburg, passed away Sunday. He was born in Altoona, son of David E. and Libby (Biesinger) Hoenstine.

Nick and his beloved girlfriend Briana Cunningham are expecting a child in January. Nick also enjoyed spending time with Briana’s children Taelynn and Tres.

Surviving are his parents; two brothers: Alex M. of East Freedom and AJ (Jane) of Martinsburg; two nephews: Jeffrey and Jay Hoenstine; his grandmother, Ruth Hoenstine; grandfather, Eric Biesinger; two aunts: Pam (Rob) Maher and Erica Biesinger; five uncles: Martin (Krista) Biesinger, Craig (Chris) Biesinger, James (Lisa) Biesinger, David Biesinger, Doak (Brenda) Hoenstine; and numerous cousins.

Nick was preceded in death by his grandmother, Inez M. Biesinger; and by his grandfather, Richard L. Hoenstine.

Nick was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a 2015 graduate of Central High School where he played football, baseball and wrestling. He worked at the Frederick Farm in Martinsburg, Harbaugh Carpeting in Claysburg, Geotec Inc. in Hollidaysburg and for Mingle Construction in Martinsburg.

Nick will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.

Friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, at the Hicks United Methodist Church located at 1211 Third Ave., Duncansville. All other services will be private. Interment will take place in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hicks United Methodist Church; or to the Central High School Baseball or Football Boosters.
