Paul A. Reagan

Sept. 2, 1934 – June 7, 2021

Paul A. Reagan, 86, passed away peacefully at UPMC Altoona on Monday, June 7, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Cyril and Rose (Bettwy) Reagan. He married Daisy Santiago on May 31, 1958.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Daisy of 63 years; a son, Joseph Reagan (Menchie) of San Jose Calif.; daughters, Michelle Dodson (Bernie) of Altoona and Debra Butler (Sam) of Tulsa, Okla.; and a brother, Frank (Carmen) of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Karen Reagan; sisters, Helen Frank and Laverne Conway; and brothers: John, Joseph and Louis; and a granddaughter, Erin Dodson.

Paul served 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired rank of Master Sergeant. He worked at the James E. Van Zandt Medical Center for 12 years in Altoona before he and Daisy moved to Seminole, Fla. where he continued working at Bay Pines VA Hospital until his retirement.

Paul was a life member of the VFW and an active member of the American Legion Post 252 in Seminole prior to returning to his hometown of Altoona in 2019. He was past Quartermaster and Manager of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1691.

Paul was a proud Marine and enjoyed talking about his career in the Corps. He beat lung cancer three times during his life, and often said, “Every day is a gift.” He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed spending time with his family.

A military service with honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the gravesite at Alto Reste Park. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
