Obituary for Ralph Rider III
Ralph Rider III, 88, of Altoona, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ralph S. and Helen D. (Sullivan) Rider. On Dec. 13, 1957, he married Katherine “Kay” Antes.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Ralph is survived by his wife, Kay of 65 years; daughter, Tammy Bradford (Tom) of Altoona; four grandchildren, Suzanne Rood (Robert), Ralph Rider V, Tom Bradford (Megan) and Tiffany Smith (Chad); as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Rider IV.
A 1951 graduate of Altoona High School, he went on to become a U.S. Air Force veteran, bricklayer and salesman. Ralph spent his time away from work at his various cottages with family and friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed time on his back porch. He was a 60 year member and past master of the Hiram Lodge No. 616 F&AM, and a 60-year member of the Jaffa Temple, Altoona. He belonged to the VFW Post 15040, American Legion Post 0827 and life time member of the Bavarian Aid Society.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Alto Reste Park Chapel, Altoona. Per Ralph’s wishes, the funeral ceremony will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Alto Reste Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of The Good Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.
