Ramona J. Rhodes

Ramona J. Rhodes, 83, Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday.

She was born in Blue Knob, daughter of the late Lester and Mildred (Long) Stombaugh. On Feb. 1, 1957, she married Gerald “Jerry” Rhodes.

Ramona is survived by her loving husband of 61 years; four children: Susan Myers of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Robert Rhodes (Karen) of Port Matilda, Pamela Elliott (Dave) of Hollidaysburg and Kimberly Kane (close friend, Steve Meade) of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Kelsey May (David) of Pittsburgh, Alex Elliott and Meghan Paul (fiance, Zac Imler), both of Altoona, Brittany Barazatto (Sean) of Hollidaysburg, Kristen Rhodes of Port Matilda, P.F.C. Kylie Kane, Trae Kane and Brayden Kane, all of Hollidaysburg, and Emily Myers in North Carolina; and two brothers: Gerald Stombaugh (Dee) of Blue Knob and Jerry Stombaugh (Mary) in Florida.

Ramona was preceded in death by a brother, David Stombaugh; a sister, Wylladene Mascotti; and a granddaughter, Bonnie Jean DeFrancesco.

Ramona was a 1953 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a charter member of Grace Family Bible Church, where she served as church secretary for 20 years.

Ramona lived for her husband, children and grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, officiated by James A. Zaebst, Pastor of Grace Family Bible Church. Interment will take place in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Grace Family Bible Church, 2243 Mill Road, Duncansville, PA 16635.
