Obituary for Ray Pursley II

Ray Pursley II, 74, Altoona, went home to be with the Holy Father.

He was born in Lock Haven, son of the late Hiram Ezra and Julia Anne (Cornelly) Pursley.

Surviving are his wife, Judith (Confer) Pursley; two sons: David James (Jen) and Michael Ray; two grandchildren: Ethan Jin and Mia Soo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: James and Hiram Ezra Jr.; and a sister, Julia Anne Nestlerode.

Ray attended Lock Haven University and was employed for 29 years at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona.

He was a member of Ward Avenue Presbyterian Church and served for many years as clerk of session, Sunday school teacher, treasurer and choir member.

Ray loved his family, his friends, his church and his God.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, Douglas McGaffin and Brian Choi officiating. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Cemetery, Madera.

Memorial contributions in Ray's name may be sent to the local chapter of the American Red Cross.
