Obituary for Rev. Ronald E. Plowman Sr.
Rev. Ronald E. Plowman Sr. 83 of Altoona, Surrounded by his family, went home to be
with the Lord on May 11, 2022.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ellis S. and Dora R. (Wilt) Plowman. He married
Lois L. McKee on February 14, 1959. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2018.
They have six children, Ronald E. Plowman Jr., Denise M. (Robert) Weyant, Donna L. (Craig) Houck,
Kelly A. (Nelson) Boyles, Gary C. Plowman and Troy S. Plowman. He has eleven grandchildren, Westly, Becky, Erin, Zachary, Gary Jr., Ashlie, Nathan, Sarah and Colton. Craig Jr. and Bradley preceded in his death; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Carl, Denny and David and a sister Bonnie of Altoona and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by three sisters; Mona, Carol Jean and Connie and six brothers, John,
Robert, Jerry, Emmett, Kenny and Freddie.
Ron’s life was dedicated to his family and church, he was a pastor for the Hollidaysburg Revival Center
for the past forty-five years and spread the gospel via radio and ministered in the prisons,
hospitals and abroad. He also worked many years and retired from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co.
Ron was a genuinely caring, cheerful and friendly individual, who everyone he met enjoyed talking to.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and church family, reading the bible, collecting coins
and antiques. His dedication to his faith, family and friendships were tireless and he will be missed.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 11am-1pm at the Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA. The funeral service will follow at 1pm. Interment will be private at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hollidaysburg Revival Center, 302 Bedford St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
