Obituary for Richard Nelson Feather
Richard Nelson Feather, 86 of Altoona, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home Altoona. He was born on March 1, 1935 in Lewistown, PA; the son of the late Robert and Esther Feather.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Dejaiffe) Feather and his grandson Jake Feather.
He is survived by his children: David Feather, Rayann Feather, Barbara Huston, Richard Feather, Paul Feather, Vicki Freeze, and Sherrie Barker; along with his grandchildren: DJ Feather, Brooke Feather, Jamie Feather, Colton Feather, Grace Murgolo, Robert Tomkov and Michelle Wells-Sutton; and seven great-grandchildren.
Richard retired from Westinghouse in 1995 where he had worked as an engineer for 30 years. He served his country as a Navy corpsman in the Korean War for two combat tours of duty and was decorated with a Silver Star and Purple Heart.
For many years he enjoyed boating and traveling the country with his beloved wife. He was a loving husband and father and a loyal friend.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at The Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
