Ronald “Ron” Park, 81, Altoona, passed away early Friday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family, after an extended illness.

He was born in Roaring Spring, the only son of the late Theda Park. On July 17, 1961, he married the love of his life, Barbara Vaughn.

Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Park; three sons: Ronald W. Jr. (Kelly), David B. (Jessie) and Douglas E. Park; two daughters: Lynne M. Park and April S. (Bob) Burchell; and nine wonderful grandchildren, whom he loved very much: Caitlin, Kylie, Maggie, Emily, Nolan and Nathan Park, Madison Longo, Lily and Aspen Burchell.

He graduated from Altoona High School in 1956 before enlisting in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1960-65. After his enlistment, he went on to work for 30 years at PPG as a line operator before his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the First Church of Christ.

Ron loved anything and everything to do with cars. They were his passion and he even owned his own car lot, Park Motors. Most importantly he loved and cherished spending time and making memories with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2019, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation on Tuesday at the funeral home, Pastor John Collins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s name to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
