Obituary for Roy N. "Skeeter" Moser Sr.

Roy N. “Skeeter” Moser Sr., 66, Hollidaysburg, passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon, Feb. 24, 2022, at his home. He was born in Norfolk, Va., son of the late William Sr. and Thelma (Foust) Moser.

Skeeter is survived by his son, Roy N. “Bubby” Moser Jr.; three daughters: Alisa M. “Sissy” Diehl and her partner, Lethea McFadden; Filicia D. “Fee” Hollen (Moser) and husband, Gabriel Hollen; and Latricia L. Moser and her partner, Paige Kinback; 14 grandbabies; and three great-grandbabies, all of Altoona; a brother, John Moser Sr.; two sisters, Marilyn Moser (Goad) of Altoona and Idela Smith of Indiana; along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Debra J. Boyer; and three very close friends: Kenny Knorr of Newry, Lucas Cooper of Duncansville and Michael Molliver Sr. of Hollidaysburg.

Along with his parents, Skeeter was preceded in death by brothers: Elmer Sr., Charles and William Jr.; and sisters, Thelma “Sis,” Margaret Williams, and Ruth, all of Altoona and Indiana.

Skeeter was a very hard working man with 48 dedicated years of roofing. He traveled throughout the United States, mostly roofing with his best pals: Mike, Kenny and Collie. In 1989, when Michael Molliver Sr. started M&M Roofing Co., Skeeter joined the company and worked until his retirement a few months ago. He was a faithful and loyal employee who loved his job and his colleagues.

He had an amazingly huge smile that lit up every room he walked in. His hobbies included collecting stamps and old or odd coins. He enjoyed fishing and camping and Steelers football with his Budweiser, but nothing brought him greater joy than being a father and grandfather.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 3:30 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Altoona. A funeral service will take place at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Skeeter’s name may be made to The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona, PA 16601.
