Ruth Ann Good Obituary

January 27, 1939 – February 9, 2022

Ruth A. Good,83, Duncansville passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at home with her son by her side.
Ruth was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Paul V. and Annetta (Mowery) Hand. On September 24, 1966, she married the love of her life, Charles W. Good Sr.

Ruth is survived by her two sons, Charles W. Good Jr. (Lisa) and Paul W. Good (Vicki): four grandchildren, Deanna, Brittany, Brandon, and Cassandra; Nephew John Paul Hand; niece Jackie Richman (Adam); a great nephew, James DeCriscio (Beth); and brother-in-laws Robert Good and Bernard Good (Cathy).
Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; sister Patty DeCriscio; baby brother Rick Hand; nephew Tony DeCriscio; niece Connie Stewart; and her beloved dog, Misty. Ruth considered Connie her daughter and special shopping buddy. Connie and Aunt Ruthie shared an unwavering belief in Angels.

Ruth was a proud Roosevelt Junior High Roughrider and 1956 graduate of Altoona Area High School. Ruth cherished the relationships she built during high school and always looked forward to her reunions.
At age 18, Ruth began working at Veeder Root where she spent 39 years bringing joy to her coworkers. Ruth loved giving back to others. She volunteered her time as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Hollidaysburg Lutheran Home, and American Cancer Society.

Ruth had many wonderful lifelong friends and was still making friends up to the day of her passing. What started as The Logantown Hepcats, eventually became The Golden Girls. It seemed the games of Pokeno and laughs were never ending.

Ruth cherished time with friends and family. She was especially proud to be the force behind many family get-togethers. She deeply loved her family, special friends, and caregivers. You know who you are.
Most importantly the Holy Spirit worked through Ruth to glorify God. It was amazing to witness Ruth maximizing her spiritual gift of words to reach the right person at the exact moment when her words were needed most. This happened too many times to be a coincidence.

May we all be blessed enough to live the kind of life Ruth lived.

Friends and family will be received from 6 - 9 PM on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022 and from 11 AM until the 12 PM funeral service on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 at The Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park. Pastor Rich Morris officiating. Interment will take place at Alto Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made online in Ruth’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate or mailed to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
