Sally Lee (Confer) Jackson

July 10, 1936 - July 21, 2019

Sally Lee (Confer) Jackson, 83, Hollidaysburg, passed away on Sunday after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Camphill, daughter of the late Angus L. and Golda (Beatty) Confer. On Nov. 25, 1954, she married John S. Jackson, and he preceded Sally in death after 57 years of marriage on Aug. 11, 2012.

Surviving are her son, Gregory J. Jackson (Dawn); a daughter, Melinda Jackson; three grandchildren: Eric Jackson, Amber Jackson and Courtney Stalter Gray (Jesse); and two great- grandchildren: Gage Jackson and Bradley Gray.

In 1954, Sally graduated from Hollidaysburg High School. She worked as a realtor-associate for John Hill & Associates and retired as secretary-treasurer/co-owner of Long's Funiture Inc. of Roaring Spring.


She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg, where she was a member of the Chancel Choir and served on the building committee. She was a life member of the Hollidaysburg Public Library and was a long time member of the Hollidaysburg Alumni- Community Band.

Mrs. Jackson enjoyed reading, music, traveling and playing bridge.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, at the funeral home. A burial will take place at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sally's name may be made to the Hollidaysburg Public Library, The Griffith Family Foundation or the First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg.
