Sally Ann Rice, 89, of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Chester and Margaret (Frazier) Summers.
Sally married Raymond H. Rice on Oct. 4, 1952, in Altoona. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1994.
Surviving are her daughter, Beth Dodson (Roger); five grandchildren: Jodie F. Fennessey, Todd R. Rice, Brandon R. Dodson, Lydia Rae Smith and Hannah E. Dodson; six great-grandchildren: Roderick and Jackson Fennessey, Remington and Madison Smith, and Dayton and Peyton Dodson. Also surviving are her brother, Alton Summers (Helen); and her daughter-in law, Rebecca S. Rice.
Sally was preceded in death by her son, Roderick R. Rice.
She enjoyed doing crafts and crossword puzzles, and was a member of Grace Bible Church.
Sally was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School and received her associate degree from Penn State University, Altoona Campus. She worked as an accountant at Bon Secours Hospital, retiring in 1995.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, July 23, 2021, all at Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg, with Pastor Daren Ritchey officiant. Interment will take place in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the AWANA group at Grace Bible Church.
